President Zhao Hongwei Holds Online Working Meeting with Emmanuel DUFLOS, Director of EPF Engineering School, France

On the afternoon of May 22, President Zhao Hongwei of CUMT held an online working meeting with Emmanuel DUFLOS, Director of EPF Engineering School, France, to discuss advancing cooperative education and related matters. Vice President Bian Zhengfu, Jean-Christophe Quinsac (Deputy Director of EPF), and Eugénia LLAMAS (Director of International Department of EPF) attended the meeting. The session was chaired by Chen Wen, Director of the CUMT International Office.
Zhao Hongwei reviewed the long-standing friendly cooperation between the two institutions and outlined prospects for future collaboration. He emphasized that the Chinese government and relevant educational authorities attach great importance to educational cooperation with France. As universities renowned for energy science and engineering technology in their respective countries, CUMT and EPF will further deepen partnerships to cultivate top-tier academic and industry-leading talents, actively contributing to the development of the China-France comprehensive strategic partnership.
Director DUFLOS stated that EPF, certified by the French Commission for Engineering Qualifications (CTI), looks forward to collaborating with CUMT. He proposed leveraging the collective expertise of France’s engineering education community to enhance bilateral cooperation and forge a model for cultivating international engineering talents between China and France.
During the meeting, Bian Zhengfu and Eugénia LLAMAS exchanged views on future collaboration. Both sides acknowledged the solid foundation of cooperation in the energy sector and shared a common philosophy of talent cultivation. Against the backdrop of strengthened educational and technological cooperation between China and France, they expressed anticipation for more offline exchanges to achieve further internationalized educational outcomes.
Representatives from EPF’s International Department, Montpellier Campus, Saint-Lazare Campus, and China Office, as well as officials from the Department of Teaching Administration, Graduate School, and International Office of CUMT, participated in the discussions.
