When I go to a website that requires basic authentication the login dialog no longer appears. I get the following message...
Unauthorized
This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand
how to supply the credentials required.
Additionally, a 401 Unauthorized error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
If go to the same website in chrome, IE, and Firefox I get the login dialog. How do I fix this in Edge?
I've tried the Edge Beta and it doesn't work either.

In general, this is expected to work for cases where the top-level site prompts for authentication.
Would you mind visiting edge://policy and looking to see whether the PC in question has an
AuthSchemes
policy set?
This can be used to disable BASIC auth.
To eliminate any UA-Sniffing or other oddities, can you try using this test page? https://jigsaw.w3.org/HTTP/Basic/
If you have a repro, please provide me (ericlaw@) with a network capture following these steps:
https://textslashplain.com/2020/01/17/capture-network-logs-from-edge-and-chrome/. In the log, the HTTP_AUTH_CONTROLLER will lack a
AUTH_HANDLER_INIT
entry if the authentication scheme has been disallowed by
policy.
You may also wish to try this from an Incognito browser profile (to avoid any interference from browser extensions.
