It’s crazy to be normal.
When I joined
Bridgewater Associates
10 years ago, I was looking for a community and a goal that are different. Because to do extraordinary things, you need to be a little crazy. One of the first moments I knew I found it came right outside our previous office. A hundred people racing in the river. Fast forward a decade, and this week we are celebrating our 50th. Yesterday, watching our people – from the CIOs to the interns – racing on a 300-foot slide through the meadow in our current home made me think – I love this place and this community so much ❤ 50 years. Extraordinary.
Yesterday, the past, present, and future of Bridgewater came together for our 50th anniversary celebrations in our new NYC office. A lot has changed over half a century, but the most important things remain the same: a group of people that comes together around meaningful work and meaningful relationships. A community committed to deeply understanding the world and to translating that understanding into unique insights and impact for our clients. We kicked off our anniversary week reflecting on the journey that got us here.
Thanks for celebrating with us,
Ray Dalio
. Here’s to the next 50 years!
