Okay well, press Win key + R > type in regedit and press Enter > click Yes when UAC shows up > click Ctrl + F and type in these keywords one at a time:

  • Lavasoft

  • Web Companion

  • Lavasoft Web Companion

If any of the keywords find any registry entry, delete it.

To find another entry with the same keyword, press F3 key.

NOTE : When working with Registry Editor, you should be cautious. Because if you accidentally delete some other key instead of the target, your device may malfunction / stop working. Therefore, it's always recommended to backup the registry entries so in case something goes wrong, you can revert the registry action (I'd recommend System Restore) : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-back-up-and-restore-the-registry-in-windows-855140ad-e318-2a13-2829-d428a2ab0692

So I tried this, and I deleted what I could from the entries that came up. Still it won’t let me delete something with name (default), type REG_SZ and data (value not set)

Does this sound right?

If that's the only key left in that folder, you don't need to delete it. Apparently, since all other keys have been deleted, that one key won't be able to run the program.
