How to keep a good relationship with parents

My parents are always too strict with me. They never allow me to go out with my friends at night, and they even don’t allow me to choose what I prefer to wear. What’s worse, they pay too much attention to my exam results, which really suffocates me a lot.

In spite of this, I am well aware that no matter what my parents do or say to me, it is doubtlessly well-meant, because they really love me. So I think I can take the initiative to be patient enough to find some ways out. I will try to be a good listener, always weighing up my parents’ advice and taking their reasonable pieces. If needs be, I will talk with them as friends about my joys and sorrows, gains and losses. And I will also tell them that they can trust me and do the same to me.

I never doubt the fact that parents are the most loving and trustworthy people in the world. Therefore, what really matters is whether we both parties are understandable enough to each other.
