Hi I've tried to reset my password for my hotmail account a couple of times yesterday and on the fourth time it had the message " You've requested too many codes today. Please try again tomorrow ".

When they say tomorrow does it literally mean 24 hours? It would really help because I tried to request a code after midnight which meant it was the following day but less than 24 hours and I had the same message again. So I have no idea how long I have to wait?

I am facing same problem... have you been able to reset your password after 24 hours?

Yes and No. I tried after 24 hours and had no luck so I went through the recovery mode. This required detail knowledge to verify that you are the account holder.

It was very stressful so my sympathies with you.

what should i do now??? I've just the only number associated with my email which is the only proof... if after 24 hours it won't work what should i do then?

Okay so all i can advise you is the following information you need for recovery:

1) If you have sent recent e-mails to anyone and you know them ask them to politely to message you the title of the subject of the e-mail exactly

2) if you know who you e-mail using the account at least 3+ accounts

3) old passwords

I was able to recover my account because managed to have all this information after contacting people and asking them to forward me e-mail subject line and being fortunate enough to remember password and people I regularly e-mail.

I didn't get much assistance from Microsoft so eventually, I just tried my luck with the recovery.

I'm not really sure to be honest what to suggest in your case? The only thing you can do is probably give it at least 24 hours from now and then try. I'm a complete novice which is why i went on this forum as i couldnt really give you any more advice.
