After one of the Windows 10 updates, keyboard typing cursor becomes hard to see.

When I move the text cursor by holding down an arrow key, from time to time it becomes invisible for 5 to 20 characters. It is hard to tell where it is if you are using keyboard repeating navigation.

It happens with text editors: Notepad, Visual Studio 2019, etc, but does not happen in text fields of Edge and Chrome or dialog boxes.

If I open Task Manager and sort tasks in CPU consumption order, the Desktop Window Manager seems to be the reason as it jumps to the top of the list when I use arrow keys in those editors.

Using other keys, such as regular characters does not cause the cursor to disappear.

Open Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Mouse, move to Pointer Options tab, check Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key, OK. Then your mouse pointer will be seen easily by clicking CTRL.
If you find it harder to see the keyboard typing cursor, please refer to this article to Change Text Cursor Thickness in Windows 10.

Also, you could upgrade to the latest Windows 10 21H1 version to see if keyboard typing cursor more clear. It is easy to upgrade to 21H1 by Windows Update Assistant.
