1. In Administration Console for Content Engine, navigate to the object store properties, and set Subscription Cache Max Entries to 8192 (default).
2. Exit ACCE.
3. Re-start the CPE JVM(s). Wait for CPE to be completely up again.
4. Log in to ACCE.
5. Re-associate the new Storage Area with your Storage Policy.
If this again fails with the Null error, then:
a. In ACCE, enable CPE Event tracing.
b. Investigate the p8_server_trace.log(s), and note if this warning appears:
EVNT FNRCE0000W - WARN Too many subscribed events (<#####>), caching will not be used on object store <os name>. Consider increasing the max subscription cache size or disabling caching (setting the size to 0).
c. Set Subscription Cache Max Entries to a number larger than that listed in the trace warning.
d. Re-start the CPE JVM(s). Wait for CPE to be completely up again
e. Log in to ACCE
f. Re-associate the new Storage Area with the your Storage Policy
6. Set Subscription Cache Max Entries back to 0 (if required), or to the default value of 8192.
