It won't let me install visual studio at all simple as that.
This is the log it gave me:

Please try following suggestions:

  • navigate to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\VisualStudio\Packages\Microsoft.VisualStudio.Setup.Configuration,version=3.4.1128.26111 folder and double click to run Microsoft.VisualStudio.Setup.Configuration.msi file manually, if it exists.
  • If above file doesn’t exist, please first try to backup this folder and remove this folder, then repair/continue your installation.
  • If this issue persists, please check if any installed/used antivirus/proxy/extension/group policy blocks you from installing this package. Disable any of them, if possible, to test.
  • Besides, please make sure that you have full permissions for your machine.

  • I have the same issue and both your solutions don't work for me.
    Double clicking the "Microsoft.VisualStudio.Setup.Configuration.msi" file I have this error message: "the system has set policies to prevent this installation".
    Deleting the folder doesn't work.
    Disable antivirus doesn't work.
