Problem(Abstract)
In XML Configuration and XML TP Rules when browsing to select *.ddf this error is received: 'Unable to parse XML file: 'ddfname.ddf'. Please make sure this XML file exists and that it is a valid XML file' (SCI36585)
Symptom
In XML Configuration and XML TP Rules when browsing to select *.ddf this error is received: 'Unable to parse XML file: 'ddfname.ddf'. Please make sure this XML file exists and that it is a valid XML file'
Cause
There is a child element within the file that has the same name as the root
tag.
Resolving the problem
According to the XML 1.0 spec section 2.1 (Well-Formed XML Documents) the root tag or any part of it can not occur anywhere else in the document.
The next release of GENTRAN:Server for UNIX will include functionality that raises an error during the reading of the DTD so the user is alerted to the fact that the DTD is not valid.
Functionality to alert the user of this issue will not be added to GENTRAN:Server for UNIX Release 6.0 SP1.
A Workaround is to change the other element tags to a value different than the root tag.
