Sriram Krishnasamy, chief digital and information officer and chief transformation officer at FedEx Corporation

stepped down on Thursday
after just over one year in the position. The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment Friday.
"The company and Krishnasamy mutually agreed to the decision following the successful completion of several key initiatives aligned with the company’s long-term strategy, including achieving its $4 billion structural cost reduction target at the end of its 2025 fiscal year as well as advancing its digital transformation," the company said in a

statement
.

, who also served as
CEO of
Datawork
s
, the company’s digital business unit, will remain in an executive adviser capacity until Oct. 31 at the latest. The Data and Technology organization leadership will report directly to
CEO Raj Subramaniam
, but "a comprehensive transition plan will be announced in the future," according to the statement.

The company has been working to infuse automation into its operations in recent years. In

.
FedEx is also several years into a broad overhaul of its shipping network dubbed
Network 2.0
.
Announced in 2022
, the effort seeks to merge its historically separate FedEx Express and Ground networks and optimize the company's resources.
