FM is responsible for UMD’s physical campus – its academic, research and administrative spaces, the infrastructure that supports the buildings, and the landscape that surrounds them.

The new 60,000 square-foot E.A. Fernandez IDEA Factory Building will spark innovation, and encourage a collision of ideas across engineering, the arts, business and science.
The Southern Maryland Autonomous Research and Technology (SMART) Building at the University System of Maryland at Southern Maryland (USMSM) will almost double this campus’ space.
